Review: I saw this film at the San Francisco International Film Festival. I do not usually see two movies in one day and was tired after already seeing another movie, but Bell raised me. I really enjoyed them. This film would be in order as members of fiction, but given that it was based on a true story, I thought it fascinating. Set in England in the late 1700s, it shows the impact of the slave trade on society. The patriarch of the family is a justice of the Supreme Court of England and take on the important matter of slave trading ship, facing the reality of the limits faced mulatto niece do it. This shows that when a person becomes a part of your family and you love that person, he alters his view on cultural norms. Was this movie prompted me to look at the history of the case involved a person. The film also showed the similarities between the white and mulatto niece to them as women, as was the price on their heads and suffer because of their place in society when people ... this movie showed that while much has changed, relationships have not changed 300 years ... Two brothers that the court could niece coming any movie now if they just updated the style of dress, hair, and accents.
